Snow – Boarding x Drifting
Went up to Tahoe last Friday with Team Calvin Wan Racing. We had a bunch of GoPro video cameras with us. Before we hit the slopes, we scouted out some spots to go drifting. Found a spot near Sugar Bowl that was perfect for filming. Mounted the Armada with 3 cams and went snow drifting for a good 15 mins. Got a lot of footage then headed to Boreal were it was only $15 for a full day pass with a student ID. Of course we all had to bust out our old college IDs. Mines was pretty faded that you couldn’t see my photo. But they weren’t trippin at all. Filmed a bunch of stuff and now cutting it all down to a 30 second spot. Can’t wait to get back up there!!
Getting sideways with Calvin’s Armada. Cal can drift anything.

Oh I wish we had these cameras when we were filming the JDM Insider DVDs. These cameras are so easy to mount, and it takes SD cards. It films full HD 1920×1080 30fps and 720 at 60fps for the cool slo mo shots. Also has a super wide lens all for $299.

Fatlace sponsored our little trip with a bunch of gear. Waiting for a Fatlace snow trip. Mark Ron Leslee Kenny ???? Hello ???

The GoPro camera mounted on my snowboard. I had 2 going on the whole time. One on the front and one on the back.

Calvin also had one on his Helmet.

Allister in deep concentration. Maybe thinking about work cause he called in sick. lol

Some more people that called in sick. But that day was the day to call in. No wind, not so sunny. Perfect condition
s.

I like to ride my board pretty small. A 146 to be exact. So much more fun than riding a longer board.

Thanks Calvin for the ride up to Tahoe. Till next time. Happy Bday by the way!!!

A Fatlace Moving Company
Helped out the Fatlace crew move into their new studio in Burlingame. Haru came along for the ride as well. Phase 2 of the move coming soon, or maybe just a crib style video of the studio. They already finished moving in. haha

Riku Desu
It’s always nice seeing Riku every year. He is almost 4 years old. I hope Haru will be as calm as him when he reaches that age. On this day, we went to a park called Zeto . Its a nice park with long trails for dogs which kinda reminds me of Fort Funston, but with a lot of snow. Maybe one day we can bring Haru here.

Goodies and a Video
Jun Watanabe hooked me up with his limited edition Bearbrick toy and a bunch of keychains and stickers. Thanks so much!!!

Here is a short impromptu video of my visit with him. Wish we had the whole day to shoot stuff. Next time for sure.

Geto Boarding
Went to the Geto Pia Resort again for some snowboarding last sunday. There is usually a blizzard storm when we go, but that day, it was just perfect.

Saw a R34 in the parking lot. Must be fun driving one of those to the resort.

Kana getting geared up for the snow.

Takahito busting manuals down the whole mountain.

The girls get down and some are better than the guys. Definitely better than me

15 minute ride up in the gondola. What a better way to kill time is to take pictures of random things. Here are my bindings.

And here is a shot from the roof of the gondola. A beautiful day at Geto Pia Resort.

The best thing about snowboarding in Japan is the cafeteria. Ramen, okonomiyaki, yakisoba and so on. They also have hamburgers and fries as well.

Reflection shot to end the post.

360VM Christmas Party
Had our 360vm annual christmas party end of Dec 09. We have been doing this since 2001. Crazy how time flies by so fast. Each year its getting bigger and bigger with more friends coming. Might need to find a new place to hold it at since my house is pretty small. Well here is a video that Roland made of the night with his new Canon 7d. As always, the gag gifts are on point!!

Nihon Trip Day 1
Went to Japan in the beginning of the month to visit some family and to do some snowboarding. While waiting at the JAL terminal in SFO, I ran into Roland and Leo. They were on the way to Hong Kong to film some hot chicks doing their thing. A dream job for many.

Sachiko came to pick me up at Narita Airport. She also prepared some okonomiyaki for me. Thanks so much =)

The following day, I headed over to Jun Watanabe’s office in Chiba for a meeting and a little shoot. Super cool guy that is really in to RC cars. Maybe a RC car video in the future? hmmm Check out his work at his site. <junwatanabe.jp> and also check out the shoot <here>

After the meeting/shoot, I headed to the Tokyo Station to catch the Shinkasen up to Mizusawa Esashi Iwate. Had a nice bento box wich was about 8 bucks. Filmed a lot in the train and made a new friend. It’s always fun sitting around kids because you can make goofy faces at them and they don’t care. lol

Bowling
Went bowling with the fatlace family a few weeks back at Classic Bowl. Filmed a little and this is what came out of it. Fun times!!!

Mustache City
Dustin is the only person I know that can grow a mean mustache in a day or two. How cool is that ? I think it will take me a few months to grow one, if that. Anyways, besides having a dope mustache, Dustin can kill any skate spot we go to. Here is Foster City’s new skate plaza. Its a very fun park with the right size ledges and bunch of manny pads. Monday mornings are the best time to go. Come check it out if you are in town.

After viewing one of my fav websites, apartmenttherapy.com, I decided to do some changes around the house. Hopefully I can get everything ready by next week or the following week for the no date as of yet 360VM Late Christmas Party. House is a big mess. Clock is ticking.

Punk Drunkers
If you are in SF this Friday come out to Punk Drunkers Launch Party at D-Structure. I’ll be playing all your Hip Hop favorites along side with DJ Yusai. They messed up on my DJ name on the flyer, but I think it goes well with the theme for the night. Take out the H and you get Punky instead of Phunky. Ghyea!!

Adidas と Estria と Shoe Bizz
Here is a little video I shot and edited for Estria. Used the 7d for most of the shots. The ex1 was for the interviews.

Neighborhood
Just a random walk home from the Balboa Bart Station. Things you see while walking around my neighborhood. Nothing exciting at all, just bored with the camera.

360Myx
Caught the second to last day of the SF auto show. Met up with the MYX crew for a taping of the 360VM TV show. If you have the premium package for Comcast, be sure to watch the 360 show every Tuesdays at 10pm on channel 368. Calvin’s and Jay Pizzo’s cars were out on display and saw a old car show friend, Bumble Bee Joe from Team Hokori. Wish I had more time to check out the other rooms.
