  • Tsunami Day

Posted by admin on March 6, 2010

Woke up at 5am from an announcement on the PA System saying that there will be a tsunami hitting us at 11:30 am. I was like WTF??? We were suppose to set up for the Hella Flush show at 7am. We had no idea what was going on. Mark and Felix were contemplating on wether to cancel the show, or to start it later in the day. We had no idea what to do. We just had to wait in our hotel rooms till further notice.

We had a live broadcast on Ustream.tv that day. Al set one up early in the morning and named the channel, Hawaii-Tsunami. We had up to 17,000 viewers watching us at one time. i was flashing a sign to the camera saying to follow me on twitter 360video. Later that day, i got over 100 followers. The power of the internet!!! You can watch the recorded stream here— http://www.ustream.tv/channel/hawaii-tsunami

17,000 viewers watching our stream and even CBS news was also airing our stream to the world. So we hung up a banner for some advertisement. LoL

We had multiple streams going on. This one was behind the scenes of the 17,000 viewers channel.

I had a 24 hr timelapse going with Kenny’s and Al Mo Fo’s camera. I would have used my Canon, but the software is only compatible with Nikons.  I felt hella bad because they couldn’t take photos during the day. But I told them that when the Tsunami destroys Waikiki, i’ll share the profits from my timelapse footage. So it was a fair trade.

My room became tsunami central for the day.

After waiting over 9 hrs, there was no tsunami. They lifted the warning and everybody was allowed to continue the day. Of course we had to postpone the Hella Flush show till Sunday. Everybody went down and jumped in the pool and beach. Here is Mark’s baby, Skylar. Its a little female version of Mark lol

And here is Tom, a 18 year old high school student. He is doing big things and not even in college yet. He is relaxing by the pool after a stressful day.
