Went to Hachimantai the other day. This place is 1.5 hrs north of Mizusawa Esashi, Kana's home town. Getting over there is a lot of fun. Driving up the mountains you see a shit load of drift marks on the road. You will also drive through a bunch of snow shelters. Long tunnels made for the winter time just in case you get stuck during a snow storm. You can take cover in there. Got to the top of the mountain and went for a nice hike. The whole reason we went was to bring Riku and Kai for a walk. But when we got there, there were some new signs saying that dogs are not allowed. Bummers. So my father in law and I went for a hike while the doggies stayed behind. Checked out a bunch of ponds and nice views. After, we had some onigiri for lunch. Relaxing day I must say.

This is my first time coming up to Iwate in the summer time. Its also my first time coming up without the wifey. I think id rather come up during the summer than the winter time. I don't mind this crazy heat at all. I'm up here for 2 weeks recovering from my little accident I had. The other day took a walk around the neighborhood with Riku chan, Kai kun, and my mom in-law. Never seen the fields so green before. Its usually covered up with 10 ft of snow. Peaceful living. I can totally get used to this.

Took a very hard spill on my bike 2 days ago. Getting myself repaired in Japan right now. Sucks that I can't fully enjoy eating at the moment, but hopefully that will change in the coming days.
